Frandi far from tourist flows and a land of passage, Lunigiana is a different from the Tuscany hills known around the world: Here spaces are not large, soft and the real protagonists are the Apennines and the clouds that together dominate the landscape and punctuate the rhythms of life.
These remote valleys over the centuries were the scene of trade, battle, and migration, and today there are numerous historic towns in testimony of the vitality of the region.
The lunigianesi customs have been handed down for centuries until the new lifestyles have forced an abrupt change of everyday life. Unfortunately, the traditional ways of life have left behind them some small space in the memories of the elderly or among the books.
Today the will to rediscover their land is a need for many, for others a fashion, for others a passion and a job.
Quest'utlimo is the case of Pierpaolo since in 1996, after leaving his gray as financial advisor office, driven by the desire to rediscover the traditional flavors of its land (or maybe just the goodies!) Has created, along with his girlfriend Guia, the farm and the farm course Lunigiana. The "reconnect with nature" is a family peculiarity.
Grandpa gave Pierpaolo to continue the restaurant opened in London in the '30s, driven by a reminder of their roots and family. When he returned home he rediscovered the link with the Lunigiana, its land and its animals, learning to cultivate and breed just as they did for centuries their ancestors.
Today the farm course Lunigiana is now an activity initiated and made the authenticity of its products the strong point.
The farm animals grow in open spaces, away from pollution of the plain. They are fed in a genuine way and are being looked after in accordance with the needs of each bred species (sheep, pigs, cattle, poultry). It is thanks to these animals that Pierpaolo and his staff, following the ancient recipes of Pontremoli and lunigianesi, daily produce cheeses, meats, and quality meats.
