The farm Arcoria Peter was born as such in the 60s by a plot of 15 donated by my grandfather to my father who loves his land continues the family tradition, a tradition that today also cultivate io.Nel Over the years the company has grown today it covers 70 ha all in the same area- the Plain of Catania - area highly suited both for the production of citrus fruits for the production of oil. The particular exposure and the particular climatic conditions allow the company to produce high quality products, also the attention to the health of the environment and conservation of the same has led us to use as the biological method of cultivation that fully reflects the love for the campaign. The company is certified by Bioagricert of Bologna since 1982, the year in which we began to market our products with "ARCOBIO" brand both in Italy and abroad. Of course, even if times discourage a little 'we are always on the move so that in 2011 we began a radical renewal of the citrus groves (about 52 ha) explanted everything and now almost everything replanted, in 2012 we have devoted about 4 has the cultivation of apricots, nectarines and snuff peaches and radically changed the method of irrigation of olive groves, and always in 2012 we made a big photovoltaic system in order to make the company independent.
As it regards the olive grove the choice of varieties is facing a highly characterizing cultivars of "Nocellare Etnea area" for 80% while 20% is "Moresca" needed for pollination. The cultivar Nocellare Etnea produces a very valuable both as a table olive oil, very fragrant and crisp, and for that reason much in demand, and for the production of oil. Hand picking and early, usually around the middle of October, allows you to produce an oil with low acidity and enhance its organoleptic characteristics, normally has hints of thistle and tomato and sometimes almond, thanks alsuo great balance between bitter and spicy it can be used on both raw and cooked vegetables, not too fatty meat on the vegetables and even fish. To obtain a high quality oil in addition to the hand-picking little attention is paid to the extraction process, it is in fact molita within 12/24 hours from harvesting with a continuous flow system in which you can control the temperature. The storage is carried out in steel silos and after about 2 months from the milling is decanted into smaller containers, of the order of 100 liters, in such a way that when it has to be bottled is used around the stem thus preserving the rest of the oxidation process which can cause the product. Even the choice of packagin has been directed in order to allow that the user has in the bottle always the same product for which the bottles are used in dark glass and are only from 0.25 to 0.50 l or 5 l canister . The company does not stop so this year we decided to produce flavored oils that use of natural flavorings extracted from existing plants in our area of Sicily for which they were produced, the following aromatic oils:
- Condiment based Extra Virgin Olive Oil and natural aroma of lemon and Marjoram
- Condiment based Extra Virgin Olive Oil and natural aroma of Lemon and Juniper
- Dressing made with Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil and natural aroma of Oranges Sweet and Bitter Oranges
- Condiment based Extra Virgin Olive Oil and natural aroma of Mandarin and Rosemary
- Condiment based Extra Virgin Olive Oil and natural aroma of oregano
The particularity of these oils which, besides being excellent in power are also good to use in the pet's skin can in fact be used for massage.
