The commercial olive orchards - about 8 hectares - are located partly in Lower Lunigiana, on slopes facing south-west towards the valley of the Magra, and partly in the sloping terraces over the waters of Blue Bay, close to Lerici.
The more than 2,500 plants, mostly Razzola varieties, native cultivar lunigianese, following work by the foliage reform, are bred in free form.
The gathering takes place directly from the plant, mainly in November and December.
Fertilization and plant protection are carried out in accordance with a low environmental impact techniques.
THE CRUSHER ECOLOGICAL
The mill, completely renovated in 2007, adopting a continuous system Pieralisi two phases, with work rigorously cold.
The plant, unique to Liguria, is distinguished by the complete absence of waste processing; In fact, thanks to the centrifugal extraction system in two phases without the addition of water, are not produced waste water, while the husks are sent for energy recovery from the waste to energy plants or for composting.
TEACHING THE MILL
Placed at the center of the Val di Magra, just 1 km from the exit of La Spezia, the mill is equipped with easy access and parking for coaches, and is of course included in tourist itineraries to the Cinque Terre, the Gulf of Poets, Lunigiana and Garfagnana.
The mill offers the opportunity to stop for educational purposes or for the individual's gourmet-cultural families, organized groups or school trips. The visits are enriched by the tasting of the products and information on tasting techniques and the organoleptic characteristics of the oils.
During the oil campaign (November-December), you can watch the production of olives and buy the newly produced oil.
