What's a SED?

Solidarity Economy Districts: What are they?

A Social Economy District (SED) is a network in which participants help each other as much as possible to meet your needs of purchase, sale, exchange and gift of goods, services and information, according to principles inspired by an economy local, fair, supportive and sustainable.

In Italy, the SED often gather internally of fair trade groups (FTG), including producers. Normally, a SED includes territories of one or more provinces; on larger scales, however, it is often spoken of Solidarity Economy Networks.
